Youth Entrepreneurs® (YE) teaches business and entrepreneurial skills in high school classrooms, and offers hands-on experience to help students succeed as business owners or employees. Members of the business community offer support as mentors and all YE graduates are encouraged to pursue higher education. Alumni stay involved with the program through opportunities for continuing education and networking, scholarships, and partnerships with local businesses.
My experience in YE has been nothing less than awesome! YE has provided me with so many opportunities and knowledge that I could not have obtained anywhere else. My brother last year, as a senior, did the YE class. He enjoyed it but wasn't as involved so he didn't have the best experience he could have, like I am. Last year for market day, He sold Chick-Fil-A. This year I decided to do the same. I got feedback from him, on what I could do better and it ended up being HUGE! We made more money then what we knew what to do with! As well as creating a even closer relationship with the owner of the Chick-Fil-A here out east! Now, after seeing my brother and I being rather successful selling it here, the owner is thinking about selling it here a couple times a week himself! Furthermore, YE has created a lot of excitement for me. In the Business for Breakfast series, I was able to meet Jimmy John. As well as sit next to the Koch family, the owner of club Pandora in Oldtown, and talk to many workers and high ranking people at Learjet. After he presented, I was able to meet Jimmy and tell him how wonderful his presentation was, and how it moved me. Then, only a couple months later, and now currently, i am working under him! That day and time was the most absolute remarkable times in my life! YE has also inspired me to go with my passion of creating my own restaurant and has set me up not only with the work behind it, but the inspiration to actually do it someday! YE is nothing short of wonderful and life changing for me! Thank you all so much for everything you have done for me, and my peers! I am glad that I chose this class, and will forever be a apart of YE! Thank you!

“Value is all dependent on the customer, so first to create value I need to determine the needs of the customers and locate my target audience. Another major factor that goes into creating value for customers is quality customer service. It is not only the quality of the baked goods I am providing but the experience customers have when they come into my bakery. It is important for me to stand out from my competition with superior taste and quality. All of these things combined are associated and important in creating value for society.”
